Gobabis Animal Rescue (GAR) is a registered (WO503) Namibian animal welfare organization, a private SPCA. It is our mandate to prevent cruelty to all animals and it is our duty to take care of the abused and neglected animals in the Omaheke Region of Namibia. Our inspectors focus on cases where the Animals Protection Act of Namibia is being contravened. Please report cases of animal abuse to Salomi +264 81 867 1586 or Lecha + 264 81 661 0188.

Gobabis Animal Rescue is NOT a shelter where animals can be dropped off by anyone.

Gobabis Animal Rescue is NOT responsible for complaints regarding animals causing a nuisance or disturbance of the peace. Please report such matters at the Gobabis Municipality or Gobabis Police.

Gobabis Animal Rescue is NOT responsible for the collection of dead animals found in public areas or on roads.

Gobabis Animal Rescue is NOT responsible for the collection of any stray animals in and around Gobabis, especially when the animals are healthy and in a good condition. Please call the local municipality to take care of this matter.

Gobabis Animal Rescue opposes the sale/trading of animals, however it is not illegal to trade with domestic animals and we, therefore, have no jurisdiction to intervene, unless there are welfare concerns. In this case, we need the breeders´ name and address to conduct an inspection.
